AdHoc Vendor Newsletter

In April this year, we moved into our new offices in the Vesterbro area of Copenhagen. Our new address is Skelbækgade 2, 5. th. DK-1717 Copenhagen V.

We are quite settled in now and loving our new open and bright space. Come by for a cup of coffee, meet the team and get a great view of the Copenhagen skyline!

You may have noticed that we have been migrating to Memsource as our primary CAT tool for some time. As of August 2016 we no longer work with Trados and all jobs are done in Memsource. The good news is that this tool requires no investment from the translator as we offer free access. There are good support resources on getting started with the tool. We will soon be in touch with more information, instructions and tips about working with Memsource.

On 6 June, we held the second Meet and Greet for our freelance translator network repeating last year’s success. The topic was ‘A day in the life on an LSP’. Thanks very much to all of those who attended for contributing to a great atmosphere and a friendly and open discussion on many topics that affect all of us in the industry today.

If you were not able to attend this time, we will have more events in the future and you’re always welcome to stop by our offices in Vesterbro.

We would like to share some of the discussed topics and conclusions from our event:

  • Working as partners
  • The market is challenging these days with global competition and pressure on every aspect: technology and pricing as well as quality. At AdHoc, we are very keen to build relationships with freelancers as our partners so we can make the most of the current market together.

  • Loyalty
  • We all agreed that loyalty is equally important for both parties. AdHoc Translations is aiming to build a close and loyal network of regular translators. We are working on making sure this is the case all the time; but this is a two-way street – the more often you accept jobs (the easier ones as well as the trickier ones), the more likely we will keep coming back to you.
If you want to find out how to make our cooperation closer, write a line to our Vendor Manager Maija at

  • Automation
  • We use a TMS platform to manage all our projects. This means that you will get some automated emails and sometimes emails are sent to several translators at a time BUT they are usually sent out to a small circle of vendors, unless the job has become urgent. This allows our PM’s to be efficient in getting the job to the available translator as quickly as possible making sure we don’t waste too much of the valuable time for translation.

  • Your dedicated contact at AdHoc Translations
  • Did you know that there is a dedicated contact for you at AdHoc Translations? Our Vendor Manager Maija is here for any questions, concerns and feedback you may have about our general cooperation. Just drop her a line at

A tip for the summer season – don’t forget to let us know when you will be on vacation. Out of office replies are always a very good idea, not just for longer vacations. You can also update your availability in our TMS or write to our Vendor Coordinator Tejaswini at
